Aagadu Review and Ratings - Routine Srinu Vytla Movie

The Most Awaited Telugu Movie of The Year, Aagadu is out in theaters now. Superstar Mahesh Babu and Sensational Director Srinu Vaitla have delivered blockbuster Dookudu in their first attempt. So the expectations on this Duo's second film were at peaks. Did Srinu Vaitla pull off another magical entertainer with Mahesh? Did Aagadu live up to the hype?

The successful combination of Mahesh Babu and Sreenu Vaitla is back once again to entertain the audience with Aagadu. Tamannah is cast as the female lead, and 14 Reels are the producers. After a huge round of promotions, the film has opened in over 2000 screens today. Let’s now see how the film is.

Story:-

Encounter specialist Shankar (Mahesh Babu) is posted to a small town called Bukkapattanam. The entire area is dominated by a dreaded don called Damodar (Sonu Sood), who runs illegal businesses by threatening the poor. Shankar decides to take things in his hands, and starts planning Damodar’s decline. Midway through, he comes to know about a shocking truth about Damodar, which relates back to his family.
What is that truth ? How does Shankar manage to destroy Damodar and his empire ? and Where does Saroja(Tamannah) and Delhi Suri(Brahmanandam) fit in this entire set up ?. To know answers to all these questions, you need to watch the film on big screen.

Performances:

Mahesh Babu:

Mahesh Babu is a sheer delight to watch. He just rocked the screen with his superb screen presence and handsome looks. His attitude and dialogue delivery as arrogant cop is outstanding. He stole the show in each and every frame that he is present. His impeccable comic timing and body language will keep you entertained throughout the film. He has carried off the film on his shoulders in spite of average script. His dances come in as a surprise.

Tamanna:

Tamanna has a very limited role and has nothing to do except for dancing in the songs. She did well within her limitations.

Others Performance:

Sonu Sood as the main villain is just okay. Brahmanandam makes an entry in the second half and his comedy works in parts. His dance sequence where he imitates NTR, Charan, Mahesh and Allu Arjun is funny. Rajendra Prasad has a dignified role and Nasser did an unusual character. Vennela Kishore, Raghu Babu, Posani Krishna Murali and others have done their bit. Shruti Haasan sizzled in the item song.
Plus Points:-

Mahesh Babu's performance
Cinematography
Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu Spoof
Brahmanandham’s dance spoofs

Aagadu is an out and out Mahesh Babu film. Right from the word go, it i s Mahesh’s histrionics which dominate the show completely. As usual, Mahesh looks extremely dashing, and carries out his role of a cop supremely well. The way he goes about his character, and blends himself into the script , is quite amazing. Interesting factor to watch out for is the fun e lement that he brings in his character, which is filled with punch dialogues and satires.
Tamannah looks gorgeous as the village belle, and is a perfect jodi for Mahesh Babu. First half of the film is highly entertaining, and brings in a lot of fun. Shruthi Haasan’s song is a special bonus to the masses as she oozes sensuous charm and glamour. Brahmanandam brings in decent laughs in the second half, and his dance episode in particular is quite hilarious.

Nasser is superb as the police constable , and his scenes with Mahesh and Vennela Kishore have come out quite well. S ongs are entertaining and have also been shot well . Rajendra Prasad, Posani and Ashish Vidhyardhi are decent in their respective roles.

M inus Points:-

Same old Formulaic Treatment of Srinu Vytla
Routine Comedy in Second Half
Weak story.
Too many dialogues.
Tamanah’s action in few scenes.
Dragged narration in second half.
No proper hero elevation scenes.
Vaitla’s regular confusing comedy track, which didn’t meet the expectations.

As expected, even Aagadu has the same trademark Sreenu Vaitla set up and comedy. The entire second half has been spoofed on his earlier films like Dookudu. Once the so called twists are unleashed, the film becomes predictable.
Climax of the film is quite simple, and is just hurried on to us. Once again, story and narration of the film is routine, and resembles Sreenu Vaitla’s trademark style. Sonu Sood’s negative character is not elevated much, and does not look menacing on screen.

Technical Aspects:-

Music of the film is a huge plus, as Thaman has given superb tunes which go with the flow of the film. All the songs have been shot richly and look superb on screen. Dialogues of the film need a special mention. There are enough punches and satires in the entire film, which will be liked by everyone.
Camerawork is quite good. The visuals which were shown in trailers, look even more better on screen. Production values are good as the makers have spen t lavishly for the film. Sreenu Vaitla must be credited for showcasing Mahesh Babu in a super light. He etches an entertaining character for Mahesh, and extracts superb performance from him.

Verdict:- Mahesh's show All the Way

Watch Aagadu Movie for Mahesh Babu. Right from the word go, it is Mahesh, Mahesh and only Mahesh throughout the film. Even though this film has routine similarities to Vaitla’s previous flicks, entertaining comedy in the first half coupled with some decent music makes this film an ok family entertainer.

Movie Review: Ra Ra Krishnayya – One Time Watch Movie

Ra Ra Krishnayya Review and Ratings, Public Talk, Hit or Flop

Movie : Ra Ra Krishnayya (2014)
Cast: Sandeep Kishan , Regina , Jagapathi Babu , Kalyani and others
Directed by : P. Mahesh Babu
Produced by : CH. Vamsi Krishna Sr
Banner :SVK Cinema
Music by : Achu
Release Date : 2014-07-04

Sundeep Kishan is on a high with the success of Venkatadri Express. He is now back with Ra Ra Krishnayya, which also stars the beautiful Regina. Directed by debutante Mahesh Babu, this film has Jagapathi Babu in a supporting role. Ra Ra Krishnayya has hit the screens today, and let’s see whether Sundeep Kishan gets his second consecutive hit.

Ra Ra Krishnayya Movie Story :-

Kittu(Sundeep Kishan) is a happy go lucky taxi driver in Chennai. He works under Manikkyam(Tannikella Bharani) who deceives him with all his savings. An upset Kittu, gets drunk and reaches Manikkyam’s house and threatens to kill his daughter Nandeswari(Regina)

Moving a bit into the flash back, Nadeswari is hugely upset with her dad for fixing her wedding without her permission. She confronts her dad and reveals her opinion. Right at that point, Sundeep Kishan starts threatening for his money, and kidnaps Nandeswari. As she is not interested in the wedding, even she runs away happily with Kittu.

As both of them keep running away from Manikkyam, a cute love story starts to grow between the two. When things look happy, and settled, Nandeswari is once again kidnapped by Jaggu(Jagapathi Babu).
Who is Jaggu ? Why did he Kidnap Nandeswari ? What will Kittu do now ? For answers to all these questions, you need to watch the film on the big screen.

Plus Points:-

First half of the film is a major plus point. It has some cute romantic moments with entertaining comedy. Once again, Sundeep Kishan’s chemistry with Regina is top class. Both of them share a good vibe and that shows on screen.
Sundeep Kishan has upped his acting and screen presence with this film. He looks a lot of ease and carries his role perfectly. He underplays his character so well and allows Regina to go on with her dominating character aptly.
Regina is the highlight of the film. She has a dominating character and does a wonderful job. She looks glamorous and the director has etched her character in a very lively and entertaining way.
Once again Jagapathi Babu does a sincere job in the film, but could not be utilized completely. More on that later. Songs of the movie are definitely a highlight. All of them have been shot and executed nicely.
Tagubothu Ramesh’s entertains you decently in the first half. Ravi Babu, Brahmaji and Satyam Rajesh do their bit.

Minus Points:-

Even though Jagapathi Babu does a wonderful job in his role, the director could not utilize him properly. The elevation required and the depth in his character is missing from the film.
Right when you see JB’s entry you eagerly await for a power packed performance. Even though he is good in a few comedy situations, the tempo is never built up during his stay.
After a promising first half, the second half slips down drastically. Right after the interval, first 15 minutes is a big let down. Sundeep Kishan has nothing much to do. Too many characters keep coming in and out of the film which makes the film tedious.
Yet another drawback during the second half is neither the love track between Regina and Sundeep or the bond between the two brothers is dealt with properly.
Climax is cliched and has nothing special in it. The much hyped lip lock is also just about OK, and does not look that sensuous.

Highlights :

Jagapathi Babu
Regina
Sandeep Kishan
Drawbacks:

Poor script
Boring Second Half
Pathetic Climax
Bad Direction

Technical Aspects:-

Ra Ra Krishnayya is high on technical aspects. A special word of mention goes to the camera work. The visuals in the film look absolutely stunning. Production values are rich, and the way the entire movie has been shot looks very good.
As said earlier, Acchu’s music is also a major plus. All the songs are pretty good and have also been shot well. Dialogues are decent and have been written nicely.
Director Mahesh Babu is pretty OK with his first film. He executes the first half wonderfully, and extracts good performances from his star cast. But as said earlier, he goes off track in the second half and tries to add too many commercial elements.
Screenplay of the movie is pretty good in the first half, but could have gone withe some lesser scenes in the second.

Verdict:-

On the whole, Ra Ra Krishnayya basically works in parts. After an interesting and engaging first half, the second half disappoints you slightly. If you go in to this film without much expectations, you will surely love Sundeep Kishan and Regina’s sizzling chemistry, and the beautiful songs.

Jessica Alba
